Kolkata is witnessing a better demand environment since Jan 2010 with volumes crossing 1mn sqft consistently for the first time after Aug 2008. Unsold stock with developers has come off significantly over the past 2.5 years and inventories at 10 months of sales are now lower than 2007-08 levels. If the demand trend continues or moves up further, then chances of prices increasing are bright. New launches which
have been weak so far have also started picking up.
