Markets Ends on a Positive Note

The Indian markets after witnessing heavy selling across the bourses took a breather in today’s trading session and ended the day in green. After starting the day on a flat note markets consolidated their gains as the day progressed with main contribution from the IT and Realty indices gaining more than three percentage points followed by Metal index gaining nearly three percent at the end of the day. . The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 365.38 points or 2.28 percentage points to close at 16,387.84. Nifty ends the day at 4917.40 gaining 110.65 points or 2.30 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,886 advances against 901 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks rallied, rebounding from an eight-month low, on speculation that this month’s slump may have been overdone. Asian equities and U.S. index futures also advanced.
