Growth - Organized vs Traditional Stores

According to Nielsen data, the modern retailers have gradually been gaining share from the traditional mom and pops – in the past 5 years, sales in local stores have grown in the low single digits (less than the GDP growth rates), while modern trade has grown in strong double digits, though at a much lower base.

First Column you see Growth of Traditional Kirana Stores while second column is growth of Organized Retailers.

Organized retail now accounts for ~10% of India's retail market.
