Outflows from domestic equity funds continued for the fourth consecutive month at Rs10.7billion after witnessing record outflows (of Rs22 billion) in the previous month. Equity funds have experienced aggregate outflows of Rs53 billion in the past four months. Only thrice before in this data series have equity outflows persisted for more than three months.
By the end of November, equity AUM stood at US$43 billion (an 18-month high), accounting for 3.5% of the country’s market cap and 25% of the total assets of the mutual fund industry.
