Credit Card Default Lawyers notification
« on: September 26, 2011, 07:15:34 PM »
Help!!!!!.......I was about to travel abroad to stay there for 3yrs and during the last week I lost my credit card, I didn't reliase it until the bank called me mentioning the due amount, I told them that i didn't use it but they said you have to fail a FIR for it and still pay the amount. I'm in a position that I can't come to file FIR, some time later they have sent a lawyer notice to the place I lived, the tenants there happened to notice that and sent me an email about it. I don't know what to do in this situation, should I get in touch with the lawyer about this or the bank?

The first thing you should have done is BLOCK the Credit Card after LOSS by just calling the Bank and they do it on Phone. For disputing transactions, you will need to file FIR etc etc

You might want to give a Power of Attorney to somebody here in India and let them act on your behalf for settling the matter.
