Hi everybody i am luky to find this forum. I am having trouble to select my first credit card, there are so many card from so many bank i am really confused. I am from assam and currently doing my ph.D degree. At present i have no job and i am only geting my scholarship, so i am looking for a cheap credit card which has no anual fee or joining fee. I am not a heavy spender and determined to pay the bill during the interest free period regularly and to build a good credit history so that in future it help me to get some good credit card with more benifits. I am also looking for a card which gives some good reward for purchase from branded shop and online shopping in flipcart.com or ebay.in or similar website. I have a SBI account, but reviews of SBI card are not that much possitive are they any good? besides they all have anual fee.
I would also like to know if i don't use credit card for extended period of time like 5-6 month do credit card issuer charge extra for not using the card? And please confirm this if i spend within limit and pay regualrly, then there are no risk in having a credit card. isn't it?
