CREDIT CARD SETTLEMENT-NEED HELP

Dear All,

I had a credit card with HDFC which I had setteled with them with 18000 rs. in Sep 2010. Though the last settlement date was August , due to some reason  it was delayed by a month. Now the bank is again calling up saying that settlement is not valid and i have to again resettle the Card with nearly 52,000 Rs. whereas the card was only of 20,000 rs.I am in a big fix and need real help.Can i seek some legal help? is the bank in their legal limit to again ask for a settlement on a once settled card? can they charge this much amount again on card which had only rs.20,000 as a limit.

Give the Exact Dates,

1. When Settlement was offered by HDFC
2. Date your cheque was cleared in your bank account towards Credit Card settlement.

Date settlement started March 7 2010
Date of last Cheque Payment 7 Aug 2010. it was cleared in due time. But the July months cheque got bounced and was collected rather deposited in HDFC branch on September 15 or 17 2010.
