Hi card bhai... i am doctor by profession while I was doing
postgraduation in chandigarh during 2006, I owned a credit card of
hsbc numb-xxxx xxxx xxxx 0874 and had outstanding amount of around
3000+, unfortunately I could not pay for 2 months and the statement I
received after 2 months was shockingly 6000 plus which was doubled .
I contacted customer care people and also bank agents to settle the
issues but orally they said yes nothing on paper.. Other next
statement bill went on to 10000 plus. As I finished my degree and also
bank people didn’t do any settlement. I came back to my native
Bangalore.
Now after 3 yrs yesterday (23/10/09) a police (SI) from
Delhi called up and said warrant will be issued against me in Delhi
police station and also he gave advocate’s mobile number and suggested
to settle down the problems with advocate so that they can withdraw
the case against me. When I contacted that lady advocate she told me
to deposit 85,000 within 1 hour so that she can withdraw the case
against me, I was taken aback and it was greatest shock in my life.
Took many people’s suggestion… some lawyer friends suggested they are
all fake calls and not to worry also told me to switch of my mobile
number. But some of my police friends told it is genuine and told me
to deposit some money so that we can buy some time and to settle for
some lower amount. And hence I deposited 20,000 to my credit card
account but problem now is that lady advocate is saying that I have
to deposit at least another 50,000/- otherwise she will book case
against me ….i am really worried and don’t know what to do … she is in
fact harassing and threatening me .. Please advise….
