Dear Sir,

My uncle had taken an HSBC credit card in 2006 and due to marketing by this bank to take an add-on card, he had taken an add-on card in my name. We do not live in the same residency. I had used this add-on card only once and my uncle made the payment and I paid
him in cash.

I was not using this add-on since I got my own credit card. A few months later , my uncle has defaulted the payment and this is
reported in my cibil report as "WRITTEN OFF". I am not sure if its also reported in my uncle's cibil.

It it legal to report the default of the primary credit card owner in add-on card owner's cibil report?  if not, can i claim for damages from the bank.

I mailed the bank to remove this from the cibil report since the default is not on my add-on card and also since HSBC never communicated
about this due to me before reporting to cibil. Because of this written off on my cibil report , i was refused loans a couple of times, which
i recently relized after I got my cibil report. Bank refuses to agree, they say default by primary will be reported in add-on's also.

Please guide me how to get the written off status removed from my cibil report.

Thanks in advance.

According to RBI Master Circular http://www.cardbhai.com/pdf/master_circular_credit_card.pdf [PDF]

Please refer to point 6.2 (c) and write a letter to HSBC Ombudsman.
