Rectifying Errors - Whom to Contact ?
« on: April 27, 2010, 12:37:53 PM »
Going through posts on this forum, we understand that some of you have been facing errors in CIBIL Report. You should first know that CIBIL is a repository for Credit Lending Data. It just stores Data uploaded by Banks and Financial Institutions.

Who should the Consumer Approach in Case of Errors in CIBIL Report ?
A Consumer must approach the concerned financial institution with records that the latter has failed to upload / submit correct data to CIBIL. For instance, IDBI Bank has failed to submit to CIBIL a Housing Loan Account has been closed. In this case immediately approach the IDBI Bank and get your issue rectified.
If the Offider in the Banks fails to reply, then contact the Bank's Ombudsman and wait for 30 days for him to reply. Writing to CIBIL won't help at all.
